Using Budgeting Tools from Off-Campus

Budget Planning System

Budget Plan System is a web application and works from anywhere, so to get to it just go to the following site: https://www.shoreline.edu/BudgetPlanningSystem

If you haven't used Budget Planning System before you may need to be set up in the system. If so, contact Ann Martin-Cummins at amartin4@shoreline.edu.

FMS Query

Some employees have been given access to FMS Query to do budgeting work. If you have already had that access, use the instructions below to access FMS Query from off-site.

Windows/Remote Desktop 

If your home computer is a Windows computer and you connect with Remote Desktop 

  1. Connect to your Remote Desktop
  2. Run FMS Query on the Remote Desktop as you did when you were on campus

Windows/VPN

If your home computer is a Windows computer and you connect via VPN

  1. Connect to the VPN
  2. Run the copy of FMS Query on your desktop as you did before

Macintosh/Remote Desktop

If your home computer is a Macintosh and you connect to a work Windows computer using Remote Desktop

  1. Connect to your Remote Desktop
  2. Run FMS Query on the Remote Desktop as you did when you were on campus

Macintosh/VPN

If your home computer is a Macintosh and you connect via VPN

  1. Connect to the VPN
  2. If you already have FMS Query installed on this Macintosh, connect to as before. Otherwise:
  3. Open Microsoft Remote Desktop 10
  4. On the main window, click the '+' drop down menu
  5. Select Add Workspace
  6. Type the following https://remoteapp.shoreline.edu/rdweb/feed/webfeed/aspx
  7. Click Add
  8. You will be required to provide your Shoreline CC credentials. Once you have successfully authenticated you should see the published apps appear.
